Husband and Wife

So... I’m married! Yesterday Karim and I had the wedding and it was everything we wanted it to be. Just a small celebration with close family and friends, the signing of the marriage contract and the exchange of rings, feeding each other dates and milk, a bit of dancing, a lot of sweet patisseries and tea and that was about it! I am so glad that my sister was there, but of course it wasn’t the same without the rest of my family and friends, which is why the big, boisterous, Moroccan wedding party is reserved for next year!

It’s a little hard to describe everything just in a blog, so I hope you can get an idea of the day from the following pictures. These are Sophie’s photos, but we will get the official photos and videos soon too. We are off on our honeymoon tomorrow and very much looking forward to our first holiday as husband and wife!

And finally I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the congratulations and well wishes from my friends and family around the world. You might not have been there in person, but you were all definitely there in spirit – in my thoughts and in my heart. So thank you from both Karim and I, it really means a lot to have your love and support!

With my hands and feet covered with henna, Karim's sister Hassania had to feed me!

We had to sleep with the henna on overnight, so had to cover our hands and feet in cotton wool and stockings!
